In the glass at Més de Vi: Camp del Ganivet

Bottle of Camp del Ganivet served on the wine list at Més de Vi, Poblenou

Camp del Ganivet is not part of Més de Vi’s wine list simply because it is a “different” white wine. It is there because it has something that particularly interests us: a strong identity without the need to raise its voice. Made with Malvasia de Sitges in Baix Penedès, it is an organic white wine from Catalonia that works through freshness, tension and a very specific way of expressing its territory.

What makes Camp del Ganivet different?

Camp del Ganivet is an organic white wine made from 100% Malvasia de Sitges grapes grown in vineyards from Baix Penedès. Behind it is Vins l’Apical, the project founded by Sergi Sevillano and Martí Giralt in Penedès, a region where the relationship between landscape and wine has been part of the conversation for a long time.

Malvasia de Sitges has a long connection with Catalonia and produces wines with a very recognisable personality. Fresh notes, white fruit and citrus appear alongside floral and Mediterranean touches that keep the wine lively and light.

This is not a wine that tries to dominate from the very first moment. Instead, it moves differently: it opens with freshness and gradually leaves a broader sensation, with tension and enough depth to remain on the table without becoming tiring.

Malvasia de Sitges and a different way of understanding wine

The history of Malvasia de Sitges has come close to disappearing several times, but it has managed to survive as one of those local varieties that continues to tell the story of its territory from a very specific perspective. More than a grape, it is a recognisable part of Catalonia’s wine landscape.

That also helps place Camp del Ganivet within our wine list. It is not there simply because it works with a distinctive variety, but because it shares a way of understanding wine where origin matters just as much as the journey into the glass.

How does it fit into Més de Vi’s wine list?

Camp del Ganivet makes sense at Més de Vi because it opens a different path within the wine list: white wines with freshness, but also with a certain depth. It does not stay in the role of a light wine just to “start” the meal; it can move through different moments without losing precision.

Its profile works especially well with dishes built around vegetables, gentle pickled flavours, fish, citrus-based sauces or preparations with a vegetal note. Malvasia de Sitges brings that combination of brightness and breadth that makes it easy to drink without becoming flat.

Rather than a generic pairing wine, it is a bottle for those who want to begin with a white and not feel they have run out of options halfway through the meal.

When should you order it?

Camp del Ganivet works particularly well when the idea is to share several dishes and let the table change rhythm little by little.

It can also be a good choice when you do not want to overcomplicate the decision. Sometimes all you need is a wine that naturally accompanies the meal and allows you to focus on what matters.
